Mei Mei!
This is annoying. The ESL class across the hallway is watching the Joy Luck Club and I can hear it all. I know this movie (and love-hate it) front to back. I am getting teary eyed yet again as I hear the last scene.

i love crying at movies. most recently, "the fountain." long, artsy, visually mezmorizing, drags, but i cried the way i love to - uncontrolably emtional.
luckily for me, i'm not conflicted about amy tang and the joy luck club...i just flat out dislike it...i mean, i like it only in so far as it allowed asian american actors to appear on screen for a primarily occidental (yes i said it!) audience...but i don't like how amy tan portrays asian american males in her stories...she further stereotypes us! i say bah humbug ot her! :o)
