Aubrey + Michael (part 1)
The wedding will go down in the minds of many (at least the 30 or so of us who stayed till the bitter sweet end) as the best wedding ever. I think elements that contributed to this were A+M's quirky awesomeness, open bar, fresh night air, a good DJ, and good people who you know and enjoy.
A+M are currently in Vietnam on their 17-day honeymoon. (AWESOME)
I can't resist doing a little bit of a recap.
Thursday night they took the wedding party out for a pre-wedding dinner at a fancy Laguna Beach eatery. At one point Ben tried to get us all to say grace and when someone (less than seriously) suggested Aubrey do it, she blurted out loudly (to the dismay of our neighboring diners) "F____ no!" Needless to say, it was a time to let loose before the responsibilities/stress portion of the wedding weekend took place. I was the designated driver and got to test drive the Mini-Cooper on PCH. The Maid of Honor (jet-lagged like a crazy person) and Bride and Groom arrived safely home in one piece.
Friday night we rehearsed (only started about an hour late) and had the rehearsal dinner. I'm sorry but probably my favorite story of the night is about Maybe. He was meeting us at the dinner site since he didn't need to rehearse. I arrive and notice that the parking lot is packed, but as I turn the corner I see him sitting in his car, rocking out to some music and reading something. He doesn't notice me because I'm in my parent's other car (now my car). He has a prime parking spot right in front. I drive a ways, find a spot, and get out, planning something witty and charming to say to him as I approach his car window. I get there, and he is not in his spot any more! I call Maybe on his cell phone. It went something like this:
M: "Hey baby, what's happening?"
E: Where are you?
M: Parked in my car! Are you here?
E: Yes! I just saw you, now where'd you go?
M: You saw me?
E: Yeah, you had an awesome parking spot, but you didn't see me cause I was in the other car.
M: OH! You saw me. Well, I thought the spot was too good and that someone else should have it... so I'm across the street.
E: WHAT?!
M: Yeah... I'll come over now.
Ok, enough gushing. That is a story he wouldn't want broadcasted because he's humble like that.
Too bad he's dating a blog-blabbermouth.
The groomsmen got a pretty awesome wedding gift to wear down the aisle.
That night some of us bridesmaids kept Aubrey company for her last night before Mrs.-dom.

OK, back to work. More later.
